THE NEXT SCHEDULED PARTIES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

SAT 9th FEBRUARY 2007

Same as last time. Bring you instruments. Something to BBQ if you want to eat more than party snacks,  and BYOG, etc. If warm, bring togs & towell

We enjoy listening to music and have an extensive collection of vinyl records and CD's. Storage is becoming a problem and a future project will be to catalog the entire collection. (Shudder).

We also try to get out to a few live concerts occasionally, and have just been to the

Past shows we have seen include Van Morrison show at Uncle Neil's cafe at the D.R.C.C.C. / Burrinja Gallery, The Giants at Flowerdale on new Years Eve and at the Ferntree Gulley Hotel; Kevin Borich at the Mercury Lounge; Cotton, Keys and Morris at Capers and Mental As Anything, also at the FTG pub. Also we went to see Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd) at the tennis centre. A brilliant show. We are going to the Palace in November to see Joan Armatrading and Brian Ferry. Also in November is the MBAS Blues Cruise which we are looking forward to attending.

Over the last few years we have had a number of Open Mike/Jam nite parties. Always a success and a chance for the young ones to try their hand to mix it with the weekend warriors and sometimes the pros. On some nights, everyone is so good its hard to tell the difference. There is always great food and company and the pool is popular on summer nights.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks to all who attended and to those who played at our last party. We always encourage the young ones are to have a jam with the older, more experienced performers. Anyone who has played in the past has Carte-Blanche at all subsequent events

Keep an eye out for Sivan & Todd "The April Maze". They are simply brilliant. See Below

Gypsy Rose Moon has now moved to West Wodonga. Gypsy hopes to move back to the Hills in the near future. Gypsy has expressed a desire to return to the Yarra Ranges. To do so she would need some considerable assistance. We wish her well. If any one can help in any way, contact us via this site

Gypsy's Bio appears on this site: Ms Gypsy Rose Moon

We have a good PA system [Yamaha Mixer/Amp, Small submixer (doubles as recording console), JBL FOH speakers, Behringer side fill/foldback speakers,a number of mikes, Valve mike Pre/DI, CD player, stands, leads, etc] for use on these nights and it is available for hire.  (Got to pay for it somehow). Our household has many musical instruments including a piano, 3 guitars (one steel string and an all steel Dobro Resonator. All with pick-ups), a couple of electric basses, violin, electric Violin, and flute as well as sundry oddities. Amps, pedals, etc for all and, still to come, recording equipment. In the past, recordings have been cobbled together and not very successful.

Our  microphones include Senheiser live/studio dynamic mike, Sure SM58 live vocals, Sure SM57 live instruments, several stereo pairs Behringer C2 pencil condensers, Behringer B1 large diaphragm condensers, digital effects unit & multi-channel headphone amp/monitor unit. That should cover most things! Still need a suitable recorder....... (oh well)

A couple of local singers get a mention here. Jessica Paige has been working hard over the last year or two and keeps herself in contact with her fans via email. We recommend you go to one of her performances if you can and get on to her mailing list.

Additional musicians being promoted here include:

Maurie Browne; Excellent storyteller and Guitar player. (contact through us)

(Rhymin') Simon Brett; Great banjo and other music.

Young Max Kulessa has been building his guitar skills and played at our last jam nite. He has improved immensely and now plans to set up his own computer-based recording system. Good luck, Max. Hope to see you at the next Jam

Don Farrell is a performer/teacher. He played at the last jam also, and is a brilliant guitar teacher.

Any performer listed on this site can be contacted through us (see feedback page) if you want to get in touch. Let us know if you want a listing added.

Below is a list of performers and places with links.

The Giants / Princes of Pleasure - Love the band and everything about them! A great hard rockin bunch of musos. They can play everything from solid Boogie thu Rock & Roll to cheek-to-cheek slow dancing. Their versions of Copperhead Road (Steve Earle eat your heart out) and I'll Be Gone are simply amazing! Go to the giants website, or The Giants at MySpace or go to events on this site for more info.  Or go to Tassie Devils Restaurant & Bar in Prospect, Launceston
The Dandenong Ranges Community Cultural Centre - Houses the Burrinja Gallery, Uncle Neil's Cafe, artist's studios, performance space. There are always some great performances there, including, recently, Kavisha Mazella.

Didgeman- Stax is a Didgeridoo teacher and performer, as well as past friend and peer of Robert Capocchi. An interesting and articulate man with a great sense of all things nature.
Jessica Paige - Local singer /songwriter. Has worked really hard and is getting some air-play. Jess and the Paige Boys are really something. She uses email; effectively to communicate with her fans which is good to see. Catch them in Melbourne some time. Details of her gigs are on her web site along with lots of other stuff. Also catch her dad, Steve Romig, an accomplished performer, at his site and at gigs.

Ms Gypsy Rose Moon - Not just a picture. We love Gypsy so much she gets her own page!!!. She deserves it. She has worked hard and deserves our support.
Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society - Bringing together blues enthusiasts and blues artists, encouraging budding talent with a range of activities such as jam nights, gigs, events, awards, contests. Blues-related information on blues bands, venues cd/dvd reviews and more.

We love the blues and everything about it! This link takes you to a world of Blues.

The April Maze - Todd and Sivan have played at several of our parties as well at restaurants like the Moody Blue. They are brilliant. Keep them in mind when you need some good music. (more to come)

Let me know if you want anything added
